On September 9 at 11:59 p.m., Galaxy Theatres at the Cannery Casino will unveil its new technology to movie fans with a special premiere screening of Sony Pictures’ Resident Evil: Afterlife in 3D. A first-of-its-kind action-packed adventure, DFX combines cutting-edge Dolby(R) Surround 7.1, Christie Brilliant3D with triple flash technology, part of the acclaimed DLP Cinema® series of projectors, that produces the brightest onscreen image, and a series of JBL speakers producing more than 16,000 watts of explosive surround sound unsurpassed in the industry.
“DFX is truly epic,” said Galaxy Theatres President, Rafe Cohen. “Our new large-screen experience is a first in the industry designed to the highest technical standards. The screen is precisely curved to ensure maximum peripheral views throughout the entire 500 seat auditorium. Galaxy at the Cannery is the first of our nine theater locations to debut this new technology. There is nothing like it in the area.”
The new DFX Auditorium at the Cannery will also feature 500 plush, new oversized leather recliners to create added comfort and multi-colored aisle lighting for additional ambiance. A leader in digital movie theater technology, this DFX Auditorium is the first for Galaxy Theatres with others planned for its theater locations throughout the Western U.S.
